The Dilemma
Childcare access influences the success of parents, employers, and the broader workforce. As the economy and workforce have evolved, childcare has faced an existential dilemma. Despite the demand for quality childcare, the cost of care has become prohibitive. Providers and parents suffer from exorbitant costs, which ultimately excludes many children, parents, and organizations from participating in the childcare sector.
Our Approach
Our programs address this dilemma by redefining the economic model of childcare. By integrating child services within broader family and social supports, we can leverage multiple funding streams to sustain the delivery of quality, affordable childcare. Our parent-centered and community-oriented vision aims toward a future in which childcare services are not just an economic commodity, but a genuinely responsive service to uplift children and families.
Our programs transcend the transactional nature of childcare in which the child and parent serve as consumers of a commoditized product. Currently, families and providers are driven to pursue the lowest costs, placing budget above the child’s needs. Our ambition is to place the needs of the family at the center of our programs. This requires innovative approaches to revenue and funding, beyond the traditional parent-pay and government subsidies. Therefore, donations and philanthropic support form a critical dimension of our learning community.
Through diverse sources of revenue, we aspire to expand the reach of childcare. Philanthropy assists our mission to reduce barriers for families through programs that are affordable, responsive, and convenient.
Attainable Housing Foundation DBA Engaging Communities of Learners has applied for recognition of tax-exempt status under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. While our application is pending, contributions may not be tax-deductible until our exemption is approved.Interested in donating?
